Dispersion adhesives

Dispersion adhesives are water based, they really have to dry and finalize their bonds through physical hardening when the water evaporates. Dispersion adhesive may be water soluble after drying, but others are water resistant. The polymer in the dispersion forms a film, where a minimum film forming temperature is required, when the water evaporates. Dispersion adhesives are often formulated with adhesion promotors, anti oxidants, non-foaming agents or a crosslinking agent. This can increase the bond’s resistance to heat and moisture.
Intercol produces and developes customer specific dispersion adhesives used in the food packaging, corrugated, converting, wood-processing, graphic, automotive, textile, building, solid board and widely in all kinds of applications in the paper and packaging industry.

Intercol’s dispersion adhesives are engineered to facilitate high processing speeds and low production costs.

Waterbased adhesive FEATURES

Waterbased dispersion adhesives offer benefits:

  • easy processing (by pouring, roller, spraying and jetting)
  • food safe, no solvents or aggresive agents are used
  • ecological, due to water basis
  • easy to handle in production and storage
  • low costs per unit, no additional volume added to e.g. folding cartons
  • easy cleaning
  • uncomplicated
  • processing at room temperature

When gluing materials with waterbased dispersion adhesives, one of the two substrates must always be able to absorb the water or let it evaporate, so that the water evaporates from the glue and the glue dries.

We offer a wide range of water-borne adhesives for various applications. You can read more about this here.
