Edge sealing is one of the applications within manufacturing furniture and building components. The coating offers for example protection against moisture and steam for the kitchen worktop but also provides stabilization of cut edges. As hot melt adhesives are 100% solid, it easily seals narrow surfaces of chipboards. Intercol has multiple adhesive solutions for edge sealing, a wide range of PUR, EVA and Polyolefin hot melt coatings.
Hot melt PUR adhesives for this application are applied as joints underseal between laminate and the worktops back lining.
