Packaging buyers, especially in the fast moving consumer goods industry (FMCG) are increasingly demanding more from corrugated box manufacturers. Suppliers are not only expected to deliver boxes in record time, but also at competitive prices, within a food safe production and “zero defects”.  An optimized adhesive dispensing systems must be used with the latest adhesive technology, “zero defects” is required for box manufacturers to deliver 100% quality.

By means of new glue and an improved gluing process, corrugated board manufacturer approaches DS Smith in Eerbeek and adhesive supplier Intercol zero defects on the production line for corrugated cardboard packaging. The results were reached after six months of research. The new approach must ultimately lead to increased efficiency among DS Smith’s end customers in mainly the food processing industry.
